July 22nd through the 27th, 2013 was the big race week for the 76th annual All-American Soap Box Derby. Clear Gold co-designed and permanently installed a new P.A. system, with speakers all the way up the length of the race track.
With the new system in place, all the important announcements, music, and National Anthem could be heard with clarity, even over the roar of the cheering fans. Kids from every state come to compete in this famous racing tradition.

First Night Akron 2012-2013
Clear Gold was honored to provide the audio and lighting system in its home town for First Night.'s main stage. Additionally, we set up a delayed audio system at the ice rink area of Lock 3 and lighting accents for the ice-carving competition. Challenges were numerous keeping everything running smoothly through the rain mixed with snow, but the crowd's energy was fantastic! It kept us moving and made the whole event fun for our crew.
A hat's off to The Downtown Akron Partnership for the energized lineup of musicians, ice-sculpting masters, entertainers, emcees, and an exquisite fireworks show!
The performers included Zobapago, Gospel Meets Symphony (with guest vocalist, Ryan Humbert), Joey Fox, Mame Daiko, and The Street Beat Drummers.

Clear Gold Audio & Lighting provided efficient and professional service for our outdoor concert needs. Clear Gold worked along side our organization figuring out venue and technological concerns, and provided a show with great sound in a hard venue. The band loved the live mix, and many audience members commented on the quality of sound and professionalism of the setup. In preparation for the event Christopher was always very prompt and understanding of our needs, I couldn't have asked for a better live sound consultant.

Over the ten plus years I have been performing I've worked with a lot of sound companies and sound people. Chris is very knowledgable and wonderfully easy to work with. He really cares about getting the very best sound. His equipment is professional and in good shape. I've gotten some of the most compliments when Chris is running our sound.
Namaste.

On February 12, 2010, we brought sound & lights to The Akron Art Museum for an incredible band, One Eskimo, out of London, England. They were passing through Ohio on tour heading west, opening up larger venues for the band, Gomez. This event was hosted by W.A.P.S. 91.3 The Summit radio for its members / supporters who enjoy commercial-free radio that strays from the beaten path. W.A.P.S. has played music from all kinds of emerging artists who have gone on to be "greats," and the station is a true gem to Akron.

Here's what the station's manager had to say about Clear Gold:
“Christopher Pepe, and his team at Clear Gold Audio, under promised and over delivered the audio, production, and lighting for our VIP Station Member event at the Akron Art Museum. Our audience, staff, volunteers, and the performers were positively thrilled with the professionalism and overall quality of sound & lighting. I highly recommend Clear Gold Audio & Lighting for your next event.”

On May 15, 2009, we had the extreme priviledge of running sound and a basic light setup for The Vienna Teng Trio. It was an intimate setting of about 150 people who traveled to Ohio from as far as California, Texas, and Georgia to see this rare performance by the multi-national artist.
Special thanks goes to 91.3 The Summit (W.A.P.S.) which sponsoerd the event, along with Akrona Galleries (at 1765 West Market Street in Akron) for hosting the event. Furthermore, our thanks goes to Audio-Technica for providing additional microphones to our sound rig.
The trio's setup included a wide range of instrumentation including a full-sized concert grand piano, cello, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, a percussion kit, percussion effects, all three performers' vocals, and several unique odd and ends. This made for a diverse soundscape and incredibly rich textures which I encourage all to hear.
You can visit Vienna Teng's website by going to www.ViennaTeng.com and listen to this wonderful artist and learn more.
I hope to have the opportunity to work with all parties involved again in the near future.
Respectfully,
Christopher Pepe, President

Chris,
Clear Gold Audio and Lighting provided a great wall of sound for our outdoor concert. They showed up on time, worked well when there were hick-ups in the electrical connections, and provided great customer service to make sure everyone was satisfied. Their knowledge and expertise from the FOH engineer was incredible. It was a peace of mind knowing that we had an engineer working with us who had traveled across the U.S. on several major label tours. On top of their knowledge, their gear was well built and sounded great. Booking these guys for an event will definitely get your money's worth!
I forwarded your offer for recording to our music director. I'm sure we'll do another one of these sometime in the future.

On April 9, 2011, we brought sound & lights to The Canton Cultural Center in Cable Hall for the emerging band, Scars on 45 (recently signed on Atlantic Records). Traveling from England, they were passing through Ohio on tour all the way across th U.S.

On June 23, 2011, we brought sound & lights to support 91.3 The Summit at their "Fund the Fund" concert and auction. This event was held at Akrona Galleries and was driven by the many volunteers who support the radio station, along with many of the Summit staff.
Seth Glier is yet another emerging artist recognized by the station as one to watch. The artist is 22 years old, traveling from Massachusetts as a duet tour with his guitarrist, Ryan Hummel. Seth has played some 250 shows on this recent tour and showed all the polish of a seasoned musician.
